I'm sorry it's not very good.... I hope you like.. this is the origonal fan story of my character... eyt to be finished.... Umm... so here it is, enjoy!
Prologue
How do I get myself into these messes?
The girl sat with her legs crossed, on in her cell. She looked around. It was small, and was well kempt, for a cell. She did not know what was happening outside that door. All she knew was that she was being transported on a ship to god know where.
The door opened and a man came in, he handed her a tray of food and left quickly. She grinned. Yes, she was a hostile passenger. She looked at her tray of food.
“Glorp, again. You want it Lemming?”
“Mew.” Lemming said. He looked like a cat, but he was so much more.
“I agree with you Lem.” She put in on the pile of trays that they had given her. She had not eaten in six days; she was mightily hungry and could go for some roots from her home planet. She lay down on the bench the food man came into her cell. He handed her a tin cup of water. She drank deeply, and then put it on the ground for Lemming to have the rest. The food man took the cup and ran from the cell, leaving the door open.
“You forgot something!” She yelled. He quickly came back and closed the door. She knew very well that there was no use in running out. She would only be beat. It seamed like forever before she felt a jolt, and the vibrating of the ship stopped. They had landed and they were where they were supposed to be. She could feel it. She stood up and put her arms out in front of her. Two heavily armed guards opened the door. She knew under their helmets they were blinking at her in surprise. The two paused, and looked at each other. This was her perfect opportunity. She let her mind flow into the minds of the two guards. They stopped moving immediately, and fell to the floor. She smiled, no time to see if she killed them. She already knew that answer.
She ran thought the hallways, and knew where to go. She had stolen a lay out of the place from one of one of the guard’s memories. She finally reached the door, and pushed the button to open it.
The door opened to reveal a man. He was tall, and was wearing a spandex suit and mask. It was black and orange. She blinked at him the said, “Get out of my way.”
“What if I said no?” She could not see his face because of the mask, but she was sure he was smiling. She tried to reach out with her mind like the guards, only it backfired. It did not hurt her it just knocked her backward. With one quick movement, the man caught her. He helped her stand strait, and then stood in behind her her. He moved her into a room that was a room full of scientific equipment. Then she understood..
“Are you…?” The tears moved down her cheeks, and her voice quivered.
“Not if you join me. With your power at my side, nothing could go wrong.” He had a hand on her hcoulder. She frowned.
“And if I don’t?”
“Meeeeeeeeeeeow.” Lemming had caught up to her. She looked down at the cat.
“Well my dear, these machines shall be your friend.” She looked at the machines again. There where many needles and straps. She looked back at the man.
“I…. No…. I shan’t.” She looked at him defiantly. “I am Royalty. I demand, by our law, that you release me.”
“Ahhhh…. But you are the last piece and your law does no good here, not that I ever cared for it.” She tried to run, but he caught her. She screamed, crying.
“Let me go!” He smiled and handed her to one of his scientists.
“Start the tests.” The man turned and started to walk away. Then he paused and turned to the girl. “You made a pour choice indeed.” He walked out of the room. The girl’s screams following him. He did not want to hurt her. He really didn’t. She was perfect considering… Do not dwell on it; he thought to himself then you might withdraw your necessary actions. He walked into his room. He was lucky it was sound proof. He was lucky the whole place was sound proof. The girl’s screams would have been heard for miles.
Chapter One: A Memory Remembered
It was raining outside the Titan Tower. Raven sat with her legs crossed on her bed, meditating. The sound of the rain outside comforted her. She was feeling a presence she had not felt since she was a little girl, but that presence should be dead, gone. She opened her eyes and looked around her room. It was dark, like her.
The presence tugged at her mind again. She closed her eyes and rubbed her temples.
Stop it! Go away! Raven thought to her self. It did her no good, this presence. This old memory. She felt like crying.
Put your emotions back in check Rae.
She bit her lip, though the presence was still there, her feeling of depression subsided.
She went to her bookshelf and skimmed through them. She found one titled “A Fallen Rose”. She pulled it off the shelf and sat down on her bed again. She flipped through the pages until a picture fell out. Well the equivalent to an earth picture, only difference was that it was printed on different paper, taken in a different way, and the colors were much better.
In the picture were two girls. One was Raven; the other was her best friend. Raven’s hair was long, and she was wearing her normal dress. The girl that Raven was in the picture with had black hair with blue highlights. She was dressed in the clothes of royalty. It was a black dress with a blue shawl that was draped over one shoulder and sewn together at her waist. There was also a belt of blue stones around her waist. The girls were not smiling. How could they when they both knew their fate? The girls were about seven years old. They sat on a stone bench in a garden.
Raven rubbed her thumb over the girl’s face. Her friend was supposed to be dead, killed to save her home planet.
A tear fell from Raven’s eye. No, don’t cry! Raven thought to herself. She put the picture on her bedside table and opened the door.
“I am coming.” Raven told a very surprised Beats Boy. His arm was raised, he had been about to knock.
“Wait? What? How?”
“I don’t have powers for nothing,” Raven said stepping past the very surprised Beast Boy. Raven walked into the living area, while Beast Boy followed her trying to get a proper answer. Finally Raven had had enough.
“Shut up.” She turned to him. He let out a small “eeep.” and turned into a mouse. She walked into the kitchen and made herself some tea. The presence tugged at her again, this time more violently and with more fear. Raven dropped her cup. Glass shattered every where; there was tea on the floor. Beast Boy, as a mouse, tried to get away from the glass, and succeeded, only to be drenched in tea. Beast Boy changed back still wet.
“Raven, watch what you’re doing.” She didn’t answer.
“Raven? What’s wrong your shaking. I wish Robin would get here.” Robin had supposedly found some information about Slade. Raven had to sit down, or she would fall down. She slowly walked to the couch as Starfire and Cyborg came in. Beast Boy was running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
“Hey, BB, cool down!” Cyborg said.
“It’s Raven. There is something wrong with her!” Beast boy paused for a second to say all this, and then he started his chicken antics again.
“Isn’t there always something wrong with Raven?” Cyborg whispered to Starfire. Star giggled.
“I heard that.” Raven said shakily from the couch. She put a hand to her head. It felt like something was trying to slice through it with a hot knife. She felt nauseous. “Excuse me.” She said and ran to the bathroom, covering her mouth. Robin had been coming in the way that Raven had been running, so he had to turn out of her way. He was carrying some papers, a box, and a rolled up map.
“What’s up with Raven? What’s wrong with Beast Boy?” Robin pointed in both directions after he put down the stuff he was carrying.
“Ask him.” Cyborg pointed at Beast Boy.
“Hey BB, chill out. What happened to Raven?” He pointed behind him, at the doors he had come through, once Beast Boy had settled down.
“OK,” Beast Boy said, and took a deep breath. “I went to get Raven because you said you have big news. She opened the door and knew I was there before I even knocked. I tried to get an answer from her when she got mad at me. I turned into a mouse. She made tea, dropped the tea, and got me wet. She started shaking and had to sit down. Then Cy and Star came in. Then you came and Raven left. That’s what happened.” Beast Boy plopped down on the couch, out of breath. The other three looked at each other, and then back at Beast Boy.
“We have to find out what’s going on.” Robin said in a business like manner. Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Starfire groaned. Robin ignored them. “Beast Boy you will go into Raven’s room, and see if you can find anything in there. I will go and try to talk to Raven. You two,” he pointed at Starfire and Cyborg, “Stay here.” Starfire and Cyborg nodded.
“Why do I have to go into Raven’s room?”
“Because I said so,” Robin said this as if it were enough of an answer. Beast Boy grumbled as He walked towards Raven’s room. Robin made his way to the bathroom. He knocked on the door.
“Go away.” Came a weak reply from Raven.
“Are you all right?”
“Does it sound like I am all right?”
“What’s wrong?”
“GO AWAY!” The bathroom door burst open, flying off its hinges. Raven was standing with her eyes closed. She fell forward and Robin caught her and carried her back into the living room, setting her on the couch. Raven sat up a few minutes later. “Get him out of my room,” She said, rubbing her temples. Cyborg went to get Beast Boy. When he came back, Beast Boy was holding a picture.
“Raven who is this, and why are you sitting with her?” Beast Boy handed Raven the picture. Raven took it and a tear rolled down her cheek. ‘No don’t cry. Keep your emotions in check!’ she thought. No more tears fell.
“Friend Raven will you tell us what is happening to you?” Starfire said, biting her lip.
“I guess I must because she is here. She is alive.” Raven rubbed the face of the girl in the picture.
“Who’s alive? Who’s here?” Robin said putting a hand on her shoulder.
“A presence I have not felt for a long time.”
“Does this presence have a name?” Beast Boy throwing his arms in the air.
“Bayla.” Raven said simply.
Chapter Two: A Choice
Why did it have to be me? Why was I the one who was cursed?
She knew she would not be able to get out of this. She could usually get herself out of trouble, but this was worse than trouble. When she had awoken, after they had run extensive tests, she had been in pain. They had cut her, poked her, and done Lord only know what else. She was in some sort of container with pink liquid. She could see through it but just barely. She had been tied up with metal shackles and chains at her wrists. She tried to move her hand, but her body did not want to listen. She tried herder, this tome she moved. Then with out notice, pain shot through her body. She fell forward, unconscious.
The man was standing by the head scientist. “So what have the test shown?”
“Nothing sir. She is very resistant, and will not let go. Even with all the pain.”
“Isn’t the angel supposed to protect her?”
“Yes, but unfortunately the angel knows you won’t kill it, or harm it beyond repair. The girl knows this to; otherwise, she would have let it out by now. The angel has to listen to her, because it is her body.” The man nodded as the scientist talked. He wanted results and he wanted them now. He walked over to the tank she was in. The tank was a cylinder that was on top of a machine that made the pink fluid in the container. The fluid was thick, but it had oxygen in it and was made for breathing. She had her wrists in an iron shackles. They were chained up, so that her arms made a v shape. He touched the glass and looked at her face.
She moved her head so that she was looking back at him. He smiled to himself, not that anyone could see. Her iridescent blue eyes were sad. He smiled to himself; he took enjoyment in other’s pain.
“I don’t have to hurt you, you know,” He whispered. She stared at him with her sad eyes. “Let her go.”
“Sir?”
“I said it, and you heard it. Now do it.” The man said stepping away from the glass. It started to drain. Once the fluid was gone the glass opened. “What’s your name?” he asked the girl.
“Why should I tell you?” Her eyes were full of fear.
“Well, I guess I should start. My name is Slade, and this is my home.” He spread his arms, indicating the whole room, which was filled with various machines. She looked around, her eyes grew wide.
“Why do you keep me here?” It was obvious she was not trying to cry.
“You know why. Now what is your name?” She closed her eyes and gulped.
“What would you do if I didn’t tell you?”
“Nothing.” His own words surprised him.
“Oh,” She blinked at him, “My name is Bayla.” Her eyes were not full of fear anymore, but there was still sadness.
“If you help me, I’ll let you out of those bracelets you are wearing.”
“What do you want?”
“I want cooperation.”
“What would you do if I said no?”
“You would be tested on, and locked in this tank day after day.” He smiled to himself again. Tears spilled from her eyes. She looked around the room, then back at Slade.
“Fine, I’ll cooperate.” He stepped up onto the machine beside her and unlocked the chains that held her there. She fell forward, unable to support her weight. He caught her and helped her get down. The entire staff of scientist blinked in surprise. Slade ignored tem and carried her to a room. In the room was a bed. He set her down on it. She smiled up at him.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” She asked yawning.
“You are the last piece. I have to keep you alive.” He turned and walked out of the room. Right before he closed the door he heard her say “Thank you for the second chance.” He shut the door quickly. He was glad he was wearing his mask. Otherwise, everyone else would see him crying. Lord what is wrong with me? He walked into his office and sat down in his chair. What is this girl doing to me? It’s only been a few hours and she is messing me up. He looked up as one of the scientist knocked on the door. He quickly put his mask on. “Come in.”
“You were great sir. If you act like that you will be able to wrap her around her finger.” So the scientists think this is an act. Slade grinned to himself.
“That’s what I was planning. Now go, and do something. I need time to think of what my next move shall be.” The scientist left. Slade got up, and walked to the mirror that was hanging up in his room. He was not sure why he kept it there. He took the mask off and his reflection looked back at him. He had messy white hair, and bright green eyes. He knew what he would do. His lips smiled curled into a smile. This was the first time in a long time he had seen himself smile.
Chapter Three: An Explanation Demanded
“What in this World are you taking about? What is a Bayla!” Beast Boy was still waving his arms in the air. Raven stared at the picture. The girls face, Bayla’s face, looked back at her.
“Raven, I demand an explanation!” Robin said, sitting down on the couch next to her. She looked up suddenly, as if she had been somewhere else and not listening. She was trying hard to hold back tears.
“What?” Raven licked her lips.
“I want to know who Bayla is.” Robin crossed his arms, looking at her, searching her eyes for an answer. That was useless, she was able to control her emotions, usually, when she did let go, bad things happened.
“Bayla was an old friend of mine.” Raven drew her breath, “She and I went to the same academy. That where we were taught to control our emotions, and powers. She was a troublemaker, and, I must confess, so was I. We met in solitude, which is a room where they put the ‘bad’ kids. She was smart and saw right through their illusions. She found me and talked to me.
She and I were not favorites among teachers. I asked her where she came from. She told me with pride that she came from Alveron. Alveron is a small, fertile planet that is far away from my own, and earth. It is famous for it’s dyes and food.
She had come from a royal family; she had even told me that she had killed the assassin that had killed her parents. She told me her ‘Over seers’, as she called them, told her she was bitter and needed control. So she was sent here. She asked for my history and I gave it to her willingly. She was one of the first outsiders that knew my destiny. We had become friends, caused trouble with the monks, and never were caught. When we were not causing trouble, we were failing classes. Fortunately, Bayla was not stupid, and had a photographic memory, she would write things out for me to study. Then we would pass out of each grade with excellence.
Bayla and I would drive the monks mad. They knew what we were doing, but it vexed them greatly. One day, Bayla was called back home. I never saw her again. A year later I got news that she had been killed to save her completely destroyed planet.”
“So Raven how are you feeling her if she is dead?” Beast Boy put his arms down, amazed with what he had just heard. Raven, a troublemaker?
“She is not. She is alive. I cannot feel dead people.” Raven sighed and leaned back into the couch. “She is alive and somewhere out there. I know it.”
“What does vexed mean?” Beast Boy blinked, he was until trying to absorb the fact that Raven was once upon a time a bad girl.
“It means to bring trouble, distress, or agitation. That’s exactly what Bayla and I did.” Raven looked once again at the picture. Where are you? she asked herself.
