I cannot stress to members how important role playing throughout a battle is. It's the very adaptation created thus from your character's powers. And my failure to release rules on CORRECT battle strategies has resulted in many very horrid battles posts. I can assure everyone that I've read at least every post on this board once or twice, so you cannot tell me that you're right, or that you weren't doing anything of the sort. The fact of the matter is that a majority do not understand the very concept of battle role playing, nor due you seem to understand what you're even doing or what the opponent is able to do.
I understand pride and the need for competition, but honestly, if no one can play fair, then I am forced to make rules against all who have done the unnatural for their satisfaction. I would have assumed common sense would have kicked into each and everyone of you, but sadly, it hasn't therefore the result is rules that will keep track of how you role playing even in battle. Especially in battle.
It's plain and simply, you don't start a battle unless the opponent wills or wants it. Just as you don't jump into someones post and assume the macho role just because you want to. Not everyone wants to fight, and if they want it, then go for it.
[/li][li]Character Control Limitations
One of the most often broken rules. YOU NEVER EVER (EVER) control the other person's character. You only control YOU own character. You cannot reenact their reaction unless they are all right with it, otherwise, that's a huge no no. Meaning, you cannot say that a punch hit successfully, you cannot say that a projectile hit successfully. Whether or not the person gets hurt is up to the victim!
[/li][li]Determining a Hurt, Injured, or Weakened Character
You cannot kill or wound someone else's character. Only the controller/creator of a character can decide whether or not he/she is injured (and how seriously) or killed off. And it's much more fun to be alive...! Also, you DO NOT continuously hit a character, then run off, because that's lame, and if you do that you're lame. So DO NOT go crazy with attacks, and think that you can get away with it!
[/li][li]Power playing
Oo Big Word! And it could easily fit the description of whatever I have to say thus far, but I feel I must go into intricate detail. Power playing, by definition, is when you make another character which is not your own do, say, or act without that characters permission. THIS IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN! You can "guess" what they are thinking or shake their hand, but you cannot make them move from room to room or speak for them.
[/li][li]Characters
Please don't even try to create über-characters or god-like characters. You wouldn't even be able to rp if they're weaknesses and powers do not come to a balance, so yes, don't even try. You do that, then just leave and go join a more ignorant board.
[/li][li]Reality Kicking In
Remember reality. It's cool sometimes to have a supernatural character, but really, them not being able to tire down in a 15 minute battle is extremely ridiculous. You cannot tell me that they cannot tire, that loss of blood will not knock them out, or that they just can't feel anything. Because you know what, despite the body type you have, you're body will and can fail you only because the structure and layout of certain joints, nerves, muscles, and bones can take so much stress, meaning you're character WILL have to tire out. If you're going to be continuously running around and jumping and kicking and punching, then I suggest you get tired.. fast. If you don't like it, like I said earlier, there's the delete button, and the lo gout button, you can leave, and go to a more ignorant board.
[/li][li]Time, Patience, and Other Characters
We all love to rp that's why we're here, but to be ignorant of another person is just plain rude. If there are other people already involved in an rp, then you better ask if you can join out of respect of course. If a member does not post and you're in between something, I suggest you wait. We all don't have the time to spend 24/7 here, therefore we can't reply forever. At least PM the person a reminder, it's ignorant to go far. It's basically just telling that person to leave. Patience people, patience. Time, please please just stick to real time, determine what the other characters could be doing that they're not posting on as much. We do all have lives... I would hope!

ie; [NO] Flamebolt rushed forward, forcing a ball of fire towards Icelanders face. She laughed as Icelander fell back, brutally burned by her assault. [YES] Flamebolt rushed forward, thrusting a ball of fire aiming for Icelander's face. She stood in a ready position as the fire raged towards her opponent, hoping it would hit. |

ie; [NO] Firebrand sent a fist towards Greenthumb's face soon followed by a series of powerful kicks to the torso, then finally finishing it off with a quick burning swipe to his neck. She leaped back, grinning as she watched Greenthumb's wounds open, and he fell to the ground in defeat. [YES] Firebrand sent her fist towards Greenthumb's face, if this attack would hit, she would quickly follow through with a series of powerful kicks to his torso and finish off with a quick burning swipe to his neck. |

ie; [NO] Cilen brought his hand down upon Kara's head, forcing her to her knees, and then making her whimper in pain as he held a sharp blade to her neck. [YES] Cilen brought his hand down upon Kara's head, hoping to force her down on the ground, where he would then threaten her life for the information he so richly needed. |

ie; [NO] Reno laughed nonchalantly as the attacks simply phased through him. It had been hours since this battle had began and he was not tired. He looked at his weakening opponent and smirked. [YES] Reno wiped a drop of sweat off his forehead, and dove as he the attack zipped over him. His body was screaming in agony, he needed to rest, he couldn't understand how he got this far in one piece, but he understood that he wouldn't be able to get as far later. . |
