A Penny for thoughts: Who is Slade?

So we still don't know who Slade is really, and after reading a few other people's comments on other boards I grew frustrated by most people's responses.

"Slade is Batman trying to teach Robin." NO

Yes I am a huge fan of the dark knight, and I will defend this. There is no way that Batman would ever do something like that, sure it seems plausible but if you think about it, Batman is a hero, he's part of the Justice League for goodness sake, why would he go through such trouble to teach Robin... teach him what?! He's trained by the caped crusader himself, what else does he need to learn 8/. Why would batman threaten a city, hurt innocent people, etc just to teach birdboy something?!

It makes no sense *shakes head*

IMO I believe Slade is.. um... Slade Wilson duh, he's the deathstroke from the original Teen Titans Comics, only dullied down a bit to give him a little light.

yeah,The Batman things Way out of Wack.I think Slade was maybe...A Ya knoiw,A Teacher in his earlir Days.Cos in the 'The end' Eps,They fought exactly alike.It's Just Creepy.But Yeah,We Dont know For sure,YET.And Definately Not Batman...Not the Man who Brought Robin out of the could and-Nevermind,Going waaaaay back,lol.

From what I know... which isn't alot lol from the comics, is that Batman fought with Slade, so I don't see how that really makes a connection...

yes slade wilson is slades actual name ive got it through all my old comics and my new dc encyclopedia of the dc universe its detailed on every dc charrecter ever made oh and i would love to choke the person who came up with the batman is slade thing it drives me nuts that anyone could think that then i calm down again after watching some teen titans or justice league

Slade is Slade Wilson. They're just using his first name because the producers felt that Deathstroke the Terminator wasn't an appropriate name for a cartoon aimed at kids.
