I actualy know this one (Damn bordom! Lol) B.b can become almost anything. he can't change into the realy mythical things like Hydras or the like. But Dragons and stuff close to real animals, He can do them If he has a picture in his head. You'd think though if he could pull off dragons he would have become on in Spellbound and actually posed a real threat to Malchior...or used the form more often.

His powers were derived from a vaccine and an animal bite I believe...so its entirely possible that's why he can't/hasn't pulled a dragon. His abilities are limited to science-based animals only. That includes dinosaurs, and since he was on Tameran at the time, he was able to go "Guard Doggy" because it was an animal that had evolved from that place. Dragons however...have not evolved. They exist outside the realm of science and thus outside of Beast Boy's morphing capability.
At least, that's my thought after thinking about it.

Beastboy can change into any creature/animal/insect in the whole universe. You know why? Anyone seen that episode where Starfire was going to get married with that booger looking green blob? Remember Beastboy and Cyborg I think were looking for something in this place where there was alot of statues, and he found one statue that looked like some kind of ugly creature and at the end, beast boy turned into that thing. So basically Beast Boy can change into ANYTHING if he has a glimpse of a picture or a statue or something...

That's what I'd mentioned in my post about him only being able to turn into non-magic based animals. The "guard dog" on Tameran falls under that category. Malchior doesn't, and that's why BB never went dragon on him.

That means he can only turn into alien creature's and animals on earth, right?

any direct-planet based lifeform that has evolved. Yes. Any non-magical creature on any planet.
So unless the writers changeit, don't expect to see him becoming a dragon, unicorn, pegasus, or gryphon.

If you go by the comics, he can change into anything, even things that don't exist (though that only happened twice).
Also, changing into larger and more complex creatures takes up a lot of his energy. That's why he collapsed in Homecoming part I flashback after turning into the large animal. Suddenly becoming a dragon would be beyond his capabilities. They aren't only HUGE, but are very complex and magical to boot.
